General:
I'm a 40 year old father of two, aged 13 and 16, and I live in the US (Maine). I've been with my wife for 25 years now and my family is everything to me. I hold them above everything and everyone, period.
Occupation:
I run a John Deere 753 with a Skidmore CF-20 processing head, cutting trees for a living. The hours are demanding (I get up at 3AM for work and don't usually get home until 6PM), but I absolutely love the job. Logging has been part of my family for four generations now and started with horses. I proudly continue the heritage, though with much more advanced technology. :-)
Hobbies:
Hard times in my teenage years brought me to my love for writing. I lived in physical pain for quite a few years, which resulted in mental anguish. Due to this, I started writing. Writing allowed me to escape to another world that I created myself, and I loved it. I stuck to short stories, poems and song lyrics, but as I grew older I started writing novels. I've now completed two and I'm working on my third.
I also have a love for vehicles, particularly Mustangs. I'm a diehard Ford fan and I've built many, many vehicles through the years. I currently own a 1986 Mustang GT that is built for 1/8th mile racing.
Why do I want to join Seismic?:
This brings us to gaming, so I'll give a little history here. I started gaming in the 80's on an Atari 2600. Growing up I was fortunate enough to have parents that purchased all of the gaming consoles for me. NES, SNES, N64, PS, PS2, etc. Gaming has been a big part of my life and I have now started gaming with my kids, particularly my oldest. (Youngest prefers PS4, oldest and I prefer PC) We generally always game together and "solo queue", always finding squad mates that either 1) drop into hot zones, die, and don't wait for respawn, 2) drop in a completely different location and become toxic when my son and I aren't there to help or 3) have 0 communication. I've joined other gaming communities, but although we're squading up within the community, it's still rather random and somewhat toxic...if we can even find a squad. My son and I aren't pro's (he's better than I am), but we DO win sometimes. This is usually due to great communication and tactics, not game skill. We're here for the fun, not the glory of consecutive wins...although we absolutely love it when we're the champions. We don't mind losing, and don't become toxic. We just want to log in, squad up, and play this game the way it was really meant to be played. I particularly enjoy when a skilled player takes the lead and calls the shots. Though we do have some wins with randoms, I'd s;ay 50% of them have been carries.

Also of note: this is my first BR game, and I haven't played many FPS games. (The only two that come to mind are Goldeneye on the N64 and Painkiller on the PC.) Just recently I started playing Overwatch with my oldest son, and we loved it. Apex came out, we left OW and haven't looked back. My son has extensive gameplay in FPS games as this is his main genre, especially CoD and Fortnite.

So if you have room, I'd like to give Seismic a try. If anything in this app turns you away from me, or me wanting to always play with my son is a problem, no hard feelings. I appreciate your consideration.
