I've had Overwatch for over 2 years now and struggle heavily with climbing the ELO. When I first got the game and got to lvl 25, I immediately dove into competitive solo without having a proper understanding of the maps, team combinations, callouts, or anything. This caused me to lose all 10 of my placement matches and be put into silver. I continued to drop afterwards until i finally reached low bronze. At that point, i started to read up on guides, play custom games to increase my own skill, and learn the ins and outs of a specific hero. This lead me to become a Support main. At that point, I had 2 other friends who ended up purchasing the game and so we would queue in trios. This helped me climb from low bronze all the way back up to high silver. However, it seems that I have hit a plateau as a support and, no matter what i try, I can't break into gold. At first, i would blame my own skill at that game so i would invest even more hours, but the results would not change. I even checked my stats on Overbuff, which indicate that I'm clearly above the 50th percentile in every stat. This is when i began to look for a clan. I believe with the proper coordination, a non-toxic environment, and good communication, I would be able to get out of the lower ranks, and begin to enjoy Overwatch the way its meant to be enjoyed.
I've been playing video games since I was 5 years old, have owned virtually all consoles, and have played the vast majority of AAA titles. I work at a tech company, and will be getting married soon, so I've started to slow down with the amount of hours I can invest in gaming, but I still try to play at least for a couple of hours/week. I'm also a very active individual - I play soccer, volleyball, and tennis. I love traveling and have a 4 year old Spaniel.
At the end of the day, I want to join Seismic because, as gamers, I believe it's beneficial for everyone if we stick together as a community, and help each other grow our personal skills. I think getting to know others and working as a team would make the gaming environment much more enjoyable and allow for the games to be played the way they are meant to be played; without the constant negativity and toxicity.
