Hi there, the name's John. I'm a 36 year old man-child from east central Scotland in pre-Brexit UK. I know you said not to say to much about gaming because that's the reason we're all here but I've been staring at a PC screen since I was 5 years old. My first computer was a Commodore 64 and it was amazing! It had a cartridge slot, a tape deck and a 5.25" floppy disk drive with literally hundreds of games from International Soccer that loaded INSTANTLY via cartridge to Donald Duck's Playground on tape with the seizure inducing loading screens and lastly Wizard, Spy Hunter and so much more on floppy disk. I have a lot of fond memories as a kid playing for hours on end with tech that nowadays is put to shame by your average smart TV. I continued on through the Sega/Nintendo era to the golden age of PS1, right up to the present day with your high-powered PC's, PS4's and XBone's. Gaming is not just a hobby for me, but a deep rooted love of an entertainment medium that I think can be more powerful at times than films & TV. Sorry for the rant but computers mean a lot to me, which takes me neatly on to my occupation which also allows me to stare at a computer screen for most of the day.
I own a Computer Repair business in my hometown and spend most of my time recently having to fix issues after Windows 10 does an update. I swear this last year has been just 1 update mess-up after another, from simple little issues such as the Keyboard defaulting to a US English layout which meant that a lot of my elderly customers 'lost' their @ symbol. To bigger issues such as the documents and pictures folders being lost during the 1809 winter update, to massive problems like the whole windows installation falling over and boot-looping during the huge 1709 feature update/reinstall. The rest of my time is spent cleaning up malware and viruses, installing operating systems, replacing power ports and smashed screens on laptops and occasionally I get to build gaming PC's from scratch to customer specifications which is great fun! Outwith all the tech I'm surrounded by 24/7 I like to listen to music, watch copious amounts of Anime and practice martial arts, although a leg injury has benched me for the last several months but I hope to gradually ease myself back into training once I'm fully healed.
Anyway, my goal is to find a group of like-minded individuals that are up for banding together to tackle the end game content such as Raids, Nightfall Strikes, Escalation Protocols, exotic quest farming for Whisper, Rat King etc. With your entry requirements asking for applicants to be 18+ I was hoping that meant that your clan members are intelligent, mature individuals that can hold a conversation. I've really enjoyed the D2 grind up till now but getting to light level 545 solo has been a lonely experience so I'd really like it if I could have a bit of a laugh and some support from a tight-knit clan that is willing to take in a gruff Scotsman that's a bit rough round the edges. Cheers for reading my application.
