Bio:
My given name is Neil (but I often go by Scott, my middle name, in online communities). I'm 36 years old, and I've been a software engineer for about 13 years now. I'm married, with three kids (that are getting into their teens at this point), and I live in US-OH.
Aside from video games and working on my own software, I only have a few hobbies. I'm an avid car enthusiast, and I'm into horology and watch collecting (though I mostly buy Seiko). I do enjoy watching sports , particularly (american) football and ice hockey, and while I'll cheer on my local teams, I'm not a particularly strong fan. And when possible, I do try to spend time playing tabletop games - both roleplaying games like D&D as well as strategy board games.

Gaming:
Most of the time I spend gaming, I'm playing Destiny 2 - Primarily on PC, but I do also play on PS5 a couple of times a week. I do own all of the expansions, and have been playing since, roughly, just before Forsaken, though I didn't play much during Forsaken or the first two seasons of Shadowkeep. It was really the transition to Steam that brought me back into playing more.
Within Destiny, I'm averaging about 30 hours a week during the course of the season. I have traditionally been more PvE focused until the last couple of seasons, when I've been trying to get a lot better at PvP, and have started playing Trials most weeks. I'm still trying to get to a three-win card, but I've run 2W/4L on a Mercy passage a few times this season. I believe that a lot of my shortcomings in PvP come from lack of experience with the weapons and tactics I'm being faced with, as my PvE standard has generally been Pulse or Bows for primary, grenade or sniper for special, and sword or rocket for heavy. To that end, I've been spending more time using Handcannons and Shotguns in both PvE and PvP to get a better sense of what their shortcomings are and how I would take advantage of that.
Outside of Destiny, I generally tend to either play games with my kids (Sea of Thieves, Among Us, and Fortnite), single player games (Most recently the PS5 remaster of Spiderman, though Cyberpunk is next on my list), and, of all things, I do play MUDs still (though generally I'm just building automation to play those for me).

Seismic:
Seismic has been on my radar for a few months now - I've not joined any clans in Destiny specifically because I want to find a clan that spans more than one game. The last time I was in an active gaming group was during vanilla WoW, but it was focused just on WoW. When BC came out, a lot of people dropped out of the game, and the group/guild fell apart without any other games for people to stay involved with.
The sheer size of Seismic, plus the variety of games that Seismic is involved with, make me feel confident that it's someplace that will outlast more than one game for me.
Finally, I've heard about seismic from the recruiting members in the r/destinythegame discord - Solantier and Ch1ppeNN are the ones I can see right now, but I know there was a third posting previously as well.
