I'm 42 years old and I've been gaming since I was 11. I built (with the help of a friend) my first PC in 1997 to play Starcraft. (OK, he built it and I watched with amazement.) Since then I have modified and built 4 or 5 more gaming computers. I'll never forget the first time that I talked on a VOIP application called Roger Wilco to my gamer friend from Texas. It sounded like we were yelling into a hollow tin can and every time you hit the push to talk button or stopped talking it would make this mike clicking sound (a feature I kind of miss because it kept you form talking over each other). Now we could talk over the internet while we played games! First it was Starcraft, then Tribes, then Battlefield 1942, There were others I'm sure, they don't come to mind at the moment. Then there was World of Warcraft. Man I loved that game... It was just unlike anything else. Thank goodness I had just graduated graduate school. I raided 40 man raids for a good long while. I wonder what happened to that heyday... 40 people gave up 2-4 hours at a time 2 or 3 times a week to do that... Life goes on, I'm sure I probably wouldn't keep that schedule today, but I do miss the experience of that. Today there is Steam, I have a library of over 100 games (many of which I don't play and bought on sale because they were cheap or I was feeling nostalgic (every Star Wars title ever, a collection of Final Fantasy , which I do play.) I remember when Origin access released and I thought they had lost their minds, 30 bucks a year, to play that big library?! Having been a subscriber over the years to various MMO's, I was like sure! I was skeptical about the premium access but then Anthem and Battlefield 5 released close together and when all my gamer friends were getting into Anthem I upgraded to premium. I loved Battlefield 1942 !! I have griped for YEARS at the way they took the series and shrank down maps and forced you into smaller areas and took away objectives and turned it into a straight kill or be killed shooter. Finally they have resurrected 1942 in Battlefield 5! BIG maps, Tanks, airplanes, different classes, the objectives... You can go out to some corner of the map and cap a whole flag by yourself and influence the game! I like the daily quests and the repeatable objectives you can do. They really need a way to earn premium currency besides cash money tho. I'm not the worlds best gamer, I can't shoot overly well (I am getting better) but I can throw bandages and ammo and revive and fix a tank like nobody's business. I like to capture objectives and probably spend the majority of my time running to objectives and lying prone hiding and capturing. I'm here at seismic because I am looking for a like minded group of people to play with. I love squad play and will follow a squad around that may not necessarily be doing what I think we should do or what I want to do just to build team synergy. All of us together is better than one of us alone. I am a Licenced Professional Counselor. We live by a professional code of ethics and that carries over in my life. I don't' tolerate rudeness or personal attacks of myself or others. I deal with a lot of heavy and sometimes largely dramatic stuff at work, when I come home I want to get away from all that so I'm not interested in and don't' really tolerate drama in my home life. I also am a mature adult and very fluent in foul language . If I had to pay a dollar every time I have been killed by a recon and I yelled out Fu$%&ing recons! I'd have to pay a lot of dollars. I'm looking for a place where people gather to have fun, work together can be kind friendly, patient and supportive and who won't get offended by my potty mouth.
